Ergonomics

Ergonomics can be considered as the practice that remove friction between the labour and the worker so that the work is done more easily, and it’s less straining.

The correct working postures and habits are related to ergonomics, e.g. knowledge of safe lifting technique. When ergonomics is taken into account, the working environment can be designed in such a way that the body won’t get overstrained. For example, a desk can be made suitable for an employee by adjusting either the height of the chair or the table. In addition, those options that make the labour easier, such as nose carts, with which transporting the load is considerably lighter than carrying it in hands.

Feelings of pain and discomfort after work can be signs that the ergonomics hasn’t been taken into account. By taking care of your ergonomics will help you feel better both at work and in leisure time, and can also be noticed financially. For example, long-term back aches can lead to long sick leaves and reduced income.
