Google Analytics
With Google Analytics, we collect information about how the web service is used. Among other things, we collect information about the number of visitors to the site, as well as the browsers and terminal devices used by visitors. This information is used by us to develop the content and technical features of the web service.
The Google Analytics account used in the web service is used to anonymize IP addresses to protect the privacy of users, and the data is not shared for the use of other Google services. In Google Analytics, the data is stored in accordance with Google’s current terms and conditions for a period of 26 months.
Embedded Content
The third-party managed plugins on our website are downloaded from the servers of the services themselves. Services provided by a third party or applications mediated by a third party are subject to that third party’s own terms of use and other terms of use.
There is embedded content from YouTube, SlideShare, OpinionStage, Padlet and ThingLink on a few pages of our website. These services may place cookies on our website when a visitor loads that page or clicks on the embedded content action button. The services also use cookies to collect information about the viewing of embedded content in their statistics.
YouTube
The web service uses a no-cookie solution for embedded YouTube videos, however, this means that user data is transferred to YouTube when the video is viewed.
Google reCAPTCHA
To ensure adequate security even when submitting forms, we use Google’s reCAPTCHA service. Its function is mainly to check whether the sender is a natural person or an automatic robot. The service includes sending the IP address and other information required by reCAPTCHA to Google. This review is subject to Google Inc.’s privacy policies. Register data content
- Ordering electrical newsletters
The following personal data will be collected and stored: name and e-mail address. This register covers newsletters created with Creamailer Oy system: the UKK Institute letter, the letters of Terve Urheilija and Terve koululainen programs and the newsletter of Smart Moves project. - Information about participants in draws
The following personal data will be collected and stored: name, e-mail address and telephone number. - Course and event registration
The following personal data will be collected and stored: name, e-mail address, street address, phone number, job/title and organization.
Register use
- Personal data of those ordering (electrical) newsletters will only be used in delivering the ordered material.
- Personal data of participants in draws is used solely for conducting the draw and for informing the winner.
- Personal data of individuals registered for a workshop, courses, or other events is used solely for communicating about the event and related materials.
Numerical data collected in the register is used anonymously in analyzing and planning the operation of The UKK Institute for Health Promotion Research.
Purchase data as well as address information stored in the register can also be used in profiling and targeting marketing procedures and customer communication in order to meet the interests of the registered individual.
Data archiving and disposal
- Personal information in the electric register of newsletters will remain the responsibility of The UKK Institute for Health Promotion Research. Customers can cancel their orders of newsletters by using the cancellation link in the end of each letter. Following the cancellation, personal data will be removed from the service provider’s database.
- Personal data of participants in prize draws will be deleted after the draw has been conducted and the winner has been informed.
- Personal data of individuals registered for courses or other events will be deleted once the event and all related communications have been completed.
Data sources
The collected personal data is provided by customers themselves and thus not regularly updated.
Data release and transfer
Registered data can be shared inside the organization and between educational stakeholders. The data is not sold outside The UKK Institute for Health Promotion Research.
Register protection principles
Stored information is techically protected. Data saved in electric form situates in server storages that can only be accessed and used by authorized persons that need the information in their professional responsibilities.
Rights of registered customer

Registered customers have a right to receive transparent information about the processing of their personal data, to check its validity and obtain a copy of the data. They have a right to request for correction and erasure of their data. They also have a right to transfer their data from one database to another and restrict and object to the processing of the data as well as object to automatized one-off decisions and profiling. Moreover, they have a right to be informed about security breaches regarding their personal information.
Requesting for the revision of the data and other similar procedures is free of charge once a year. The request should be delivered either by post to UKK-instituutti, tietosuoja, Kaupinpuistonkatu 1, 33500 Tampere or by hidden e-mail via Turvaposti.fi. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, and in any event no later than a month after the date of receipt.
